On State Holidays, I work on my home business. I'm not workin' for the "man" today, I'm workin' for ME! Today I am experimenting with how my polymer clay "rocks" work in a mold. The white chalice disc is the one that I sculpted (also with poly clay), the yellow is the mold I made from the original. I've been experimenting with making molds for a few months, using a two-part mold compound. I wasn't thinking "pendant" when I made the original, so there's not really enough room for a hole at the top. But I can glue on a magnet or a pin. Besides these chalices (symbol of my church) other ideas I'm thinking of making: Peace sign, heart, eyeball, Venus of Willendorf, things that will look cool in "stone". Any ideas? These dowels I picked up at our church garage sale. They are painted with fingernail polish--I am all about recycling--and sharpened at the other end. These are going to become Dangle Sticks, for potted plants that need a bit of sparkle. These are an experiment that I will be selling at our church craft fair this fall, along with regular Dangles, and a couple mobiles, like the started one here.
