I found some Play Doh Town sets on sale, and had to get a couple. We picked out the artist, and the construction guy & dog. Bonus I didn't notice when purchasing, the dog is a clay pusher, too, he poops! LOL GrandKiddo loves that! We got out the water marbles (or water beads), we've had these for a while. The last couple times we've gotten them out, I figured it was the last time, they get smashed and lost, so the supply has been shrinking. So when GrandKiddo wanted to experiment with the water marbles and the Play Doh tools, I figured what could it hurt? The water marbles go in the pushers pretty easily, and make a glorious mess coming out. Lots of fun! The GrandKiddo has one day a month with no school for teacher planning, and I'm doing Grama Day Camp these days.
The last day of February wasn't too cold to blow bubbles with jackets on, but we didn't do that very long. We also played with Play Doh Town, water marbles, Stikbots, made crescent rolls with cheese, "drove" Grampa's driving video game, and made a pinball machine with a Kiwi Crate. Breakfast was yogurt, this kid loves yogurt! Kiwi Crate is a monthly subscription box for kids aged 5-8. My GrandKiddo is just 4 1/2 now, but I wanted to get one he'd grow into. (They have different boxes for different ages) Knowing it was geared a little older than he is, I modified the project. Know your kids, and your timeline when you decide how to modify. I chose to put the frame together the night before, that worked great for us. I showed him where it was recommended we put the rubber bands, we tried it that way, before he rearranged it all. He experimented with rolling something besides the marbles that came with. He found a bouncy ball bounces too much, but a plastic gem bead and worked better than I thought it would. Later in the day, we played a different pinball, on the video game, it's still about how things roll! Watch for the payoff! i asked GrandKiddo to tell me what the finger puppets
